Recent Events and Coverage

The Thatcham Children's Centre underwent a refurbishment
in July 2010 after it was turned into the South Thatcham Sure
Start Centre. The preschool now occupy one side of the centre with their own
entrance, kitchen, toilets and office. The refurbishment has provided the
preschool with a fresh new playing and working environment for the children
and staff.

We recently had a willow arch and tunnel
planted in our playground. The children were allowed to help plant some of
the willow - check out the photos on the gallery.

We have recently purchased enough splash
suits and wellies so that everyone can go outside in the rain to splash in
the puddles and not get too wet! Check out the photos on the gallery

We had a visit from a farm who came with lots
of their animals for us to see, it was a great day - Photos on the

Our end of term sports day and leavers
presentation was very successful. We had 37 children leaving to go onto
school. The morning sports day was dry and sunny but unfortunately the rain
came down at lunchtime so the afternoon one was held inside. Photos on the

We had a visit from some firemen recently who
showed us all around their fire engine and talked to us about fire alarms.
They also showed us how quickly they could get dressed with their fireman

We recently had a visit from Zoolab who
bought lots of inscects and reptiles for us to see. They told us a story
about the animals and we were able to hold them including a snake, rat,
cockroach and a huge snail!
